UK Charts: Dominacja Davida Bowiego, sensacyjny awans „Fast Car” oraz Elle King

Śmierć ikon muzyki rozrywkowej od zawsze miała wpływ na kształt notowań, tak jak było w przypadku Elvisa Presleya czy Michaela Jacksona. Nie inaczej jest z twórczością Davida Bowiego, która wciąż sprzedaje się nadzwyczaj dobrze. Ponadto, TOP3 prawie bez zmian – prócz sporego awansu utworu Fast Car Jonasa Blue & Dakoty.

UK ALBUMS CHART

Nie da się ukryć, że śmierć Davida Bowiego zrobiła na fanach artysty ogromne wrażenie. Zwłaszcza, że podobną wymowę ma jego ostatni album Blackstar i właśnie to wydawnictwo trzeci tydzień z rzędu pojawia się na szczycie zestawienia UK Albums Chart. Bez zmian, w porównaniu z poprzednim tygodniem jest także w pozostałej części podium…

Pierwszą dziesiątkę listy w połowie zapełnia David Bowie. Jego albumy – prócz wspomnianego wcześniej podium –  są również na #5, #9 oraz #10. Warto wspomnieć, że podobne rzeczy działy się po śmierci Króla Pop w 2009 roku. Jednak to nie wszystko – biorąc pod uwagę TOP40, gdzie znajduje się jeszcze siedem innych wydawnictw (w tym zamykające TOP20 Aladdin Sane) otrzymujemy w sumie liczbę 12 krążków, które znajdują się jednocześnie na liście. Historia zna przypadek Elvisa Presleya – po jego śmierci również zdarzyła się ta sama sytuacja. Właśnie to podobieństwo sprawia, że Bowie wyrównuje rezultat Króla Rock’n’Rolla z 1977 roku.

Ponadto, na listę wkraczają również nowości, w tym pierwszy od niespełna 6 lat krążek od Suede (#6), świeże wydawnictwo od Megadeth (#11). Sporym zaskoczeniem może być też pojawienie się w pierwszej dwudziestce albumu Elle King, Love Stuff. Po udanym występie u Grahama Nortona ten krążek poszybował o 40 miejsc w górę.

UK SINGLES CHART

Pierwsze dwa miejsca w zestawieniu singli wciąż należą do Kanadyjczyków. Shawn Mendes ani myśli oddać zdobytego tydzień wcześniej podium zestawienia na rzeczy Justina Biebera. Ten sukces przypieczętował faktem, że w minionym tygodniu to właśnie Stitches był najchętniej streamowaną piosenką (3,51 milionów odtworzeń) podczas gdy przez 10 ostatnich tygodni to właśnie Love Yourself mógł pochwalić się takim tytułem. Wciąż tracą inne utwory z Purpose – Sorry spadło o oczko w dół, What Do You Mean? aż o cztery. Tendencję spadkową utrzymuje również Adele – Hello już na #10.

Sporymi awansami mogą pochwalić się dwa utwory: są to Ex’s & Oh’s Elle King (powód opisany przy omówieniu albumu) oraz taneczny cover utworu Tracy Chapman Fast Car awansował o 58 oczek, zajmując tym samym ostatni szczebel podium. Tym samym ta przeróbka stała się popularniejsza od oryginału – ten w 1988 najwyżej wzbił się do miejsca #4.

Powody do radości ma także Rihanna. Niespodziewana premiera singla Work sprawiła, że po dwóch dniach (!) może pochwalić się #13 pozycją.
