Co tydzień nowe notowanie UK Charts, a więc również i teraz mamy nowego albumowego lidera. Tym razem ten zaszczyt dostąpiła połówka duetu Simon & Garfunkel – jego najnowsze wydawnictwo osiągnęło pierwszy od 26 lat szczyt notowania. Za to na liście singli oczywiście nuda… Lecz streaming utworu Sorry sprawił, że Justin Bieber odebrał specjalne wyróżnienie.

UK ALBUMS CHART

Od kilku miesięcy na albumowym UK Charts jest jak w kalejdoskopie – co tydzień mamy nowego lidera. Tym razem tego zaszczytu dostąpił amerykański folk wokalista oraz połówka Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon. Stranger To Stranger jest pierwszym od 26 lat solowym albumem muzyka, który to zajął szczyt albumowego UK Charts. Następca wydanego 5 lat temu So Beautiful or So What osiągnął ten sam rezultat co The Rhythm of the Saints, który miał swoją premierę w 1990 roku.

Drugą pozycję niezmiennie od trzech notowań zajmuje Drake z albumem Views. Na ostatnim miejscu podium lekkie zaskoczenie, gdyż okazuje się, że najnowszy krążek Coldplay A Head Full Of Dreams osiągnął w tym tygodniu lepszy wynik od Lemonade Beyoncé, przez co nastąpiła drobna zamiana, jeżeli chodzi o miejsce trzecie. Impulsem do tej zmiany zapewne był koncert, który brytyjska formacja dała w ubiegły weekend w Manchesterze. Ubiegłotygodniowy lider, formacja Catfish and The Bottlemen teraz musi zadowolić się miejscem w TOP 5.

W pierwszej dwudziestce mamy jeszcze cztery nowości: #6 należy do MC Bugzy Malone’a, na #10 piąty album od Dexys, #16 krążek od duńskiej formacji metalowej Volbeat i jest to ich pierwsze TOP 20 w historii notowania. Tym samym od 4 tygodni TOP 3 pozostaje bez zmian, z tym samym (od 9 tygodni; 73 000 combined chart sales – this week; 5,6 mln odtworzeń – najczęściej streamowany utwór – this week) One Dance Drake’a na szczycie.

Jednak raczej taki stan nie potrwa zbyt długo, gdyż niebezpiecznie blisko do tej trójki zbliża się utwór This Girl. W zeszłym tygodniu utwór od Kungs vs Cookin’ On 3 Burners awansował aż o 19 oczek, a teraz znajduje się tuż za podium. Coraz większą popularnością cieszą się również między innymi nowa propozycja od Clean Bandit i laureatki X Factora, Louisy Johnson oraz wspólny numer Kanadyjskiego rapera i Barbadoski. Co więcej, P!nk z baśniowym Just Like Fire po ośmiu tygodniach pobytu na liście wreszcie przedostaje się do TOP 20.

Mamy również dobrą wiadomość dla Believers. Ich idol, Justin Bieber właśnie został uhonorowany specjalnym wyróżnieniem. Wszystko to z okazji przekroczenia przez Sorry pułapu 100 milionów odtworzeń w ramach streaminu – i to tylko na terenie UK. O tym, jak bardzo ten Kanadyjczyk jest popularny na Wyspach, niech świadczy fakt, że do tego osiągnięcia kandydują jeszcze dwa jego single.
