Billboard Year-End Charts sporządzane jest na podstawie sprzedaży albumów i singli w danym roku w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Miejsce pierwsza okupują najlepiej sprzedające się single i krążki. Magazyn Billboard przedstawia całą paletę zestawień, począwszy od podstawowych – najlepsze albumy i najlepsze single ogółem (na podstawie Billboard 200 i Billboard Hot 100) – po bardziej szczegółowe, jak na przykład najlepsze albumy i single w muzyce pop, country czy rockowej. Przez najlepsze dni przedstawię zestawiania w najważniejszych gatunkach muzycznych, przedstawiać artystów będę na podstawie tego, jak poradzili sobie tylko w Stanach Zjednoczonych, bo tylko tego tyczy się Billboard Year-End Charts.

Listę najlepiej sprzedających się albumów w USA otwiera nie kto inny jak oczywiście Adele i jej bestseller – 21. Sprzedał się on w USA już w liczbie sztuk 4,75 miliona. Drugi album na tej liście sprzedał się w ilości aż o milion mniej. W tym zestawieniu chodzi o najlepiej sprzedające się albumu, także one wcale nie muszą mieć premiery w roku 2011. I tak np. album Sigh No More zespołu Mumford & Sons premierę miał w październiku 2009, ale dobrze sprzedawać zaczął się dopiero w 2011, dlatego udało mu się uplasować na miejscu 8.

Jeśli patrzeć tylko i wyłącznie na rok 2011 – to na miejscu pierwszym jest oczywiście Adele i jej 21 (4,75 miliona sztuk), jednak drugie miejsce należałoby do Lady Gagi (2 miliony sztuk) i albumu Born This Way, a trzecie do Lil Wayne’a i albumu The Carter IV (1,7 miliona sztuk).
